President Aquino names 4 new envoys, gov’t execs

MANILA — President Benigno S. Aquino III has named four new ambassadors that will fill several posts around the world, as well as new government officials for various positions.

In a Palace press briefing on Friday, Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said Domingo P. Nolasco has been nominated as Ambassador to the Republic of Italy; Wilfredo C.

Santos, Ambassador to the State of Qatar; Melita S. Sta. Maria Thomeczek, Ambassador to the Republic of Germany; and Nathaniel G. Imperial, Ambassador to the State of Israel.

Valte said they were nominated May 30 this year.

She said the President also appointed Rebecca J. Calzado as new administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), replacing Carmelita S. Dimzon.

Valte said Reydeluz D. Conferido was named as new undersecretary in the Department of Labor and Employment, replacing Danilo P. Cruz.

Other appointees were members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Nursing under the Professional Regulatory Commission. They are Gloria B. Arcos, Carmelita C. Divinagracia, Carfredda P. Dumlao, Florence C. Cawaon and Glenda S. Arquiza.

Valte said these government officials were appointed also on May 30.
