MANILA — President Benigno Aquino III said Senator Jinggoy Estrada might be the one who should explain about the harassment and extortion attempts on Janet Lim-Napoles saying he might know more about it.

In a letter dated April 17, 2013, Napoles sought the President’s help saying that his brother Ronald was arrested and that certain individuals were allegedly extorting money from her family.

Aquino told reporters, a day after the Estrada’s confrontation with Justice Secretary Leila De Lima during her confirmation hearing, that Estrada should be the one to explain the issue since General Rodolfo Diaz was tagged in the said harassment.

“Ewan ko lang kung ito yung General Diaz na dating namumuno ng PSG noong panahon ni President Erap. So baka mas may alam sa atin si Senator Jinggoy,” he said.

(I am not sure if this was the General Diaz who used to lead the PSG during President Erap’s term. So maybe, Senator Jinggoy knows better than us.)

During former president and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s term, Diaz served as the head of the Presidential Security Group .

Senator Jinggoy Estrada, however, has not made any remark on the issue, as of this report’s posting time.
