TCDSB and PTAC to Hold Free Teacher Hiring Consultation Event

As a part of their continuing community outreach programs, the Toronto Catholic District School Board ( TCDSB) and the Philippine Teachers Association-Canada( PTAC) are jointly sponsoring a 2nd Annual Teacher Hiring Consultation-Information Session, as arranged by Toronto Ward 8 Trustee Garry Tanuan , on June 4, 2014( Wednesday) , 5:00 p.m. at the Catholic Education Centre , TCDSB, 80 Sheppard Avenue East, North York, Toronto, Ontario.

The free Session will provide an opportunity for those applying or have applied for teaching assignments with the Board for school year 2014-2015 to receive information and advice on matters such as : hiring process and procedure, teacher supply & demand, lateral career alternatives & options, impact of Ontario Education Regulation 274 and other related aspects. There will be Visual & Oral Presentation and Question & Answer portions in the 2- hour session.

Interested licenced teachers who are internationally -trained teachers / educators, particularly those in career transition, underemployed or seeking contract or occasional teaching positions are encouraged and invited to attend. Registration No. / Teaching Divisions / Basic Qualifications / Additional Qualifications / NGO Agency/Provider.

For Non-OCTs , registrants may indicate any of the following: 1) Completing an Ontario Faculty of Education BEd program ,2) O.C.T. Registration In- Process/Applied & Awaiting Result, 3) Planning/Preparing to Apply for O.C.T. Registration yet. Moreover, for administrative and planning purposes by the Board HR Department , its Senior Staff will highly appreciate their RSVP through Tony San Juan, on or before May 28, 2014, Wednesday (TSJ).
