PNP ready to bring Napoles back to Fort Sto. Domingo
MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday all security precautions are in place for suspected pork barrel fund scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles to be transported back to Fort Sto. Domingo in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna from the Ospital ng Makati.
Senior Supt. Wilben Mayor, the spokesperson of PNP Chief Director General Alan Purisima, said the Makati Regional Trial Court has ordered the transfer of Napoles and the PNP is prepared to take her back to Fort Sto.
Domingo.
”With regard to the schedule of transport…
Time and date, this is covered by security procedures and we cannot disclose it,” Mayor added.
He said that they will provide the same security contingent such as the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), PNP Highway Patrol Group (HPG), and PNP Health Service for Napoles.
Presiding Judge Elmo Alameda of the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 150 earlier ordered the return of Napoles from Ospital ng Makati to Fort Sto. Domingo on or before May 23, 2014.
The said court is handling the serious illegal detention case, a non-bailable offense, of Napoles.
Napoles has been confined for almost two months in the hospital for the treatment of the cyst in her uterus since her admission on March 31.
The court has denied the motion for an additional period of confinement in the hospital until her series of checkups/examinations are completed due to lack of merit.
Napoles underwent total hysterectomy or removal of her entire uterus and both ovaries on April 23.
Apart from the serious illegal detention case, she is also facing plunder charges in connection with the alleged pork barrel scam implicating some lawmakers and other government officials.
