MANILA, Philippines— Last week, the arrest warrant for the grave coercion charges filed by TV host Vhong Navarro against Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee and five others was released.

And as expected, the accused will post the P12,000 bail, set by Presiding Judge Bernard Pineda Bernal of the Taguig Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC).

On Tuesday, Jed Fernandez posted bail before the Taguig (MTC), while Cornejo posted hers on Wednesday.

The seven accused are also charged of serious illegal detention, which is a non-bailable offense. As of the moment, the court has yet to decide on the case’s merit.

In a previous interview, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said that Cornejo and her group cannot leave the country without asking permission from the Department of Justice (DOJ) or the trial court. She added that they can be arrested and can be barred from travelling abroad should they insist to travel.

Aside from Lee, Fernandez and Cornejo, the others charged of grave coercion and serious illegal detention in connection with Vhong Navarro’s mauling incident last Jan. 22 are Bernice Lee, Simeon Raz, Jose Paolo Calma and Ferdinand Guerrero.
