Regine Velasquez’s father passed away

Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez announced via Instagram that her father, Mang Gerry, passed away today February 3 at 1:39 PM.

 

According to entertainment portal PEP.ph, Regine just attended a press conference earlier today for her Valentine’s concert with Concert King Martin Nievera.

 

Velasquez also mentioned to reporters that her father was indeed in the hospital but just for his routine check-up after he was rushed to the hospital before the Songbird’s press conference. After the presscon, she was seen talking to someone over the phone and soon left the presscon in a hurry.

 

A few months ago, Mang Gerry made several trips to the hospital because of health concerns.

 

Regine considers Mang Gerry as the person who honed her to become the world-renowned singer she is today.
