Former Senator and Vice Presidential Candidate Ferdinand \u201cBongbong\u201d Marcos filed a 25-page comment on Friday, asking the Presidential Electoral Tribunal to dismiss the counter appeal filed by Vice President Leni Robredo and acknowledge that the early findings of his protest are sufficient in both form and substance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The comment cited instances where Robredo\u2019s camp had only filed one dilatory motion right after the other. It also questioned the integrity of Robredo\u2019s camp.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMore than nine months have already gone by, and all (that) Robredo has done is \u00a0file one dilatory motion after the another. If (she) has nothing to hide, then she should do everything in her power to encourage – rather than hinder – this election protest to move forward,\u201d said the plea as read by Marco\u2019s lawyer, Atty. George Garcia.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe millions of voters who trooped to the polls nine months ago deserve no less. They want the truth to come out. The sooner the better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Marcos\u2019 camp called for the PET to act on the electoral protest and proceed with the retrieval of the ballot boxes from 36,465 clustered precincts which would then be subject for a manual recount, technical examination and forensic investigation as prescribed by the Rules provided. <\/span><\/p>\n

The camp also insisted that Robredo\u2019s counter appeal lacked the legality as it was overdue and that the PET should\u2019ve already proceeded with phase one. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRobredo cannot have it both ways. She cannot continue with claims that she won the elections fair and square and yet behind everyone\u2019s back, constantly finds ways to stop the truth from coming out. The evidence of Marcos is probably the same evidence that Robredo has by now. If this is the case, one cannot help but wonder why she doesn’t want the proceeding to more forward,\u201d Garcia added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Robredo\u2019s camp only dismissed the electoral protest and called it as just a media stunt.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
