Marvin Marcos and others accused in the murder of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.<\/p>\n<p>Espinosa was killed during the serving of a search warrant by Marcos, then chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 8 (CIDG-8), and 18 of his men, at the Baybay City, Leyte sub-provincial jail on Nov. 5, 2016, after he allegedly fought it out with the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dWala pong special treatment, kaya pinaubaya na namin sa korte kung saan siya ma-detain (There\u2019s no special treatment, hence, we left it to the court where they should be detained),\u201d said PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesman Senior Supt. Dionardo Carlos in a press conference in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThey (Marcos and 18 others) are accused and suspects in the incident and they will be treated as such,\u201d Carlos added.<\/p>\n<p>Marcos and the 18 other respondents are now detained at the CIDG-8 (Eastern Visayas) office until a \u201ccommitment order\u201d is issued by the Baybay City Regional Trial Court (RTC).<\/p>\n<p>Carlos said the CIDG-8 is mandated to detain in their office the 18 personnel who were arrested through the arrest warrant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIf the court decides another venue (detention), we will follow the decision of the court,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u2013The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said no special treatment is being accorded to Supt.
