Aside from her three drug cases that are now being petitioned for consolidation, Sen. Leila De Lima is currently facing twelve criminal and administrative cases from her alleged involvement in the drug trade to financing the Abu Sayyaf.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her defense team concluded that this long line of pending cases only proves that she is being persecuted by the Duterte Administration for being an avid critic of the administration\u2019s agendas and accusing Duterte of being the one behind extrajudicial killings amid its deadly campaign against illegal drugs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from the three drug charges for alleged illegal drug trading filed before the Muntinlupa RTC, she is also facing charges for the following: disobedience to summons in connection with the inquiry at the House of Representatives at the Quezon City MTC, violation of Republic Act 10168 for alleged financing of terrorism, and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act filed by Sulu local officials before the Office of the Ombudsman. On top of these cases are two complaints before the Senate Ethics Committee and an electoral protest filed by defeated senatorial candidate Francis Tolentino.<\/span><\/p>\n

Disbarment cases are also on queue against her on the Supreme Court because of her alleged love affair with former bodyguard and driver, Ronnie Dayan and for allowing the proliferation of the drug trade in the New Bilibid Prisons.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
