(Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/RodneyDangerfield\">Rodney Dangerfield\/ Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>NEW YORK \u2013Rodney Dangerfield made a career out of getting \u201cno respect.\u201d His widow contends he&#8217;s not getting much in death, either.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2ldp75X\">NY1 television<\/a> reports that Joan Dangerfield doesn&#8217;t think a mural in his old New York City neighbourhood does him justice.<\/p>\n<p>Artist Francesca Robicci painted the mural last year in Queens, working from a photo provided by Dangerfield.<\/p>\n<p>Dangerfield also donated $1,000 toward the project, which was commissioned by a community group.<\/p>\n<p>A letter from her lawyer calls the image \u201cless-than-flattering\u201d and says Rodney Dangerfield \u201cdeserves nothing but the highest respect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The artist says she worked for free and is heartbroken but is willing to return to New York City from Italy to do some cosmetic work.<\/p>\n<p>Residents were divided on the comedic controversy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think you could have softened it,\u201d Gillian Archer said. \u201cNobody likes a double chin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Flynn McLean thinks the mural should stay.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would not want to see that mural removed just because it&#8217;s not the most flattering\u201dlikeness, said McLean, who added that Dangerfield \u201cwasn&#8217;t the best-looking guy in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comedian, who died in 2004 at 82, obviously could not be reached for comment. But his hangdog shtick still runs amok on the website Rodney.com.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI tell ya when I was a kid, I got no respect,\u201d says one of his famously self-deprecating jokes posted there. \u201cMy old man took me to a freak show. They said, &#8216;Get the kid out, he&#8217;s distracting from the show.\u201d&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>There on the website is a big picture of Dangerfield, looking a little bug-eyed and \u2013truth be told \u2013double-chinned.
