(Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/dpwhph\">Department of Public Works and Highways, Philippines\/ Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA \u2013The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the start of the construction of the UP Diliman Road Network Improvement.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the project involves the construction of 12 roads within the government-owned campus which is located in Quezon City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UP Diliman Road Network Improvement involves the construction of 12 roads within the campus. This include the streets of Ylanan, Roces, Laurel, Archery, R.P. De Guzman, E. Jacinto, E. De Los Santos, Pardo De Tavera, Africa, Quirino Ma. Guerrero and the Rotunda,\u201d he said during the inauguration of Ylanan Road recently.<\/p>\n<p>The newly opened thoroughfare will provide motorists a new route without going to Quezon City Circle from C.P. Garcia and Katipunan access to Commonwealth Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe opening of the recently completed Ylanan Road provides students, motorists from C.P. Garcia and Katipunan access to Commonwealth Ave. without having to go to Quezon City Circle,\u201d the DPWH chief added.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the Villar, together with UP President Danilo Concepcion, held groundbreaking ceremonies for Jacinto Road, a 826-meter access road from C.P. Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When completed, an improved Jacinto Road would provide better access to UP Diliman, Katipunan, C.P. Garcia and Commonwealth Avenue,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Concepcion said he is looking forward to the partnership with the DPWH in the realization of more projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The UP Diliman Road Network Improvement is the first step towards our goal of providing our students the best facilities. We look forward to a strong partnership with DPWH in executing an ambitious blueprint for UP,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Also present during the event are: Concepcion&#8217;s wife, Atty.
