Franklin Drilon<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview over dzBB radio, Senate President Franklin Drilon said that he is encouraging the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to study the possibility of increasing\u00a0 the salaries of government workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge Budget Secretary Butch Abad to start looking into proposals for salary increases for government workers so that it can be tackled and included in the budget preparations for next year,\u201d Drilon said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Congress aims to pass measures seeking to increase the salaries and benefits of state workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have enough time that\u2019s what I am saying. There is still three months for the DBM to decide on this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Drilon also noted that it has been two years since Congress passed the Salary Standardization Law 3.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate&#8217;s legislative measures, he said, would aim at providing economic relief to state and private workers, advancing public health and strengthening the country\u2019s anti-graft court.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>With report from the Philippine Star<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Photo: Facebook Page of Sen.
