American multimillionaire and fashion designer Tory Burch paid homage to \u00a0silver screen icon, Katharine Hepburn, at New York Fashion Week during Valentine\u2019s Day. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Katharine Hepburn collection featured designs for the elegant, powerful modern-day woman, and also boasts the unique 1950\u2019s fashion aesthetic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The show was held at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where she also delighted guests by giving out love poems.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo me she is a hero,\u201d she told Agence France-Presse (AFP) while standing behind an image of the female icon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think she personifies powerful women in a way, she was very irreverent and outspoken and did it with such grace\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

The designer also expressed the timeliness of launching her new collection as she had been \u201cgreatly\u201d affected by the Women\u2019s March following Trump\u2019s inauguration earlier this year. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was something that takes your breath away,\u201d she said, \u201cI think that it\u2019s bigger than what it became about, because women are half the population, it should be equal rights, equal pay\u2026 it should be a given, not a favor.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact she is gearing up for a Women\u2019s Day campaign on March 8. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since her introduction to stardom in 2005, Burch\u2019s clothes have been worn by many A-list celebrities including the Duchess of Cambridge.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
