He also served as Associate Deputy Minister of Finance in years the government balanced the budget.<\/p>\n<p>John is an outdoorsman who has hiked, camped, and gotten lost all over BC. He and his wife, Ellie celebrated their 30thanniversary and have two sons who recently graduated from university.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn understands the huge challenges faced by families &#8211; particularly young &#8211; people in BC,\u201d concluded Keating. \u201cI know that he\u2019s the leader who will make sure that all British Columbians have a bright future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to thank outgoing leader Adrian Dix for his dedication and service to our party and his efforts to make BC a better place for everyone,\u201d said Keating. \u201cI know that as an MLA he will continue to be an effective advocate on important issues for his constituents and people across this province.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Horgan\u2019s official inauguration will take place on Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 PM at the Renaissance Hotel in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>Horgan will be available to media on Friday morning.
