Fallon went on to compare the president-elect to the evil King Joffrey in \u201cGame of Thrones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat would it be like if King Joffrey had lived?\u201d Fallon asked. \u201cWell, in 12 days we&#8217;re going to find out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of the film \u201cFlorence Foster Jenkins,\u201d starring Meryl Streep as just about the worst opera singer in the world, Fallon opined: \u201cEven she turned down performing at Trump&#8217;s inauguration.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mournful drama \u201cManchester by the Sea,\u201d he said, was \u201cthe only thing from 2016 that was more depressing than 2016.\u201d He also noted that votes were tabulated by the accounting firm of \u201cErnst &amp; Young &amp; Putin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t just Fallon who indulged in Trump jokes. Hugh Laurie, accepting his award for best supporting actor in \u201cThe Night Manager,\u201d speculated that this would perhaps be the last Golden Globes ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t mean to be gloomy, but it has the words &#8216;Hollywood,&#8217; &#8216;foreign&#8217; and &#8216;press&#8217; in the title,\u201d Laurie said, explaining his pessimism about the awards surviving the Trump era.
