Benigno Aquino III<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Attending the state dinner with one of the world\u2019s most powerful leader was indeed a wonderful experience for TV hosts Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda.<\/p>\n<p>The two shared their once-in-a-lifetime experience on \u201cAquino and Abunda Tonight\u201d on Tuesday, April 29.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlam n\u2019yo po mga kaibigan noong nagsalita si President Obama, alam mo\u00a0na he was talking to all of you pero, \u2018pag nadaanan ka parang ikaw\u00a0ang kinakausap. It\u2019s a gift,\u201d Abunda said.<\/p>\n<p>( You know my friends when President Obama talked, you know that he was talking to all of you but, when his eyes stared at you, it seemed like he was talking to you. It\u2019s a gift.)<\/p>\n<p>He described the state dinner as \u201cnot opulent, not decadent, and very much \u201cPinoy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abunda was also glad when President Obama paid tribute to the talent of the\u00a0Filipino.<\/p>\n<p>As for the presidential sister, it was indeed an honor to be seated beside\u00a0President Obama\u2019s press secretary, Jay Carney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAng dami kong ano, parang insight na nakuha. Nagkuwento siya all of\u00a0the places he went to. He was there daw, Boy, nagsimula siya siya ke\u00a0ano muna, vice president Joe Biden for two years. After two years,\u00a02010, tama ba ang bilang ko, 2010 onwards siya na. So, imagine mo,\u00a0araw-araw siguro silang magkasama, gano\u2019n,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>( I got a lot of insights. He talked about all of the places he went to. He was there, Boy, he started with vice president Joe Biden for two years. After two years, 2010, onwards it was he already. So, imagine, maybe they were together every single day.)<\/p>\n<p>Aquino also shared her insights about President Obama praising the\u00a0achievements of her family.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNu\u2019ng nagpe-pay tribute si President Obama sa mga magulang namin, sinasabi niya na \u2018your father gave up his life for democracy.\u00a0Your mother embodied democracy. You (President Noynoy Aquino) put down\u00a0the dictatorship.\u2019 Tapos sabi ko, \u2018ay, ano kaya ang napi-feel ni\u00a0Bongbong Marcos na naririnig lahat \u2018yon, \u00a0nandoon siya,\u201d she related.<\/p>\n<p>( When President Obama paid tribute to our parents, he said that \u2018your father gave up his life for democracy.\u00a0Your mother embodied democracy.
