(CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reached 31,451 units in September, up by 16.2 percent from 27,089 units in the same month in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Both passenger cars and commercial vehicles segments posted double-digit growth last month.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial vehicles sales increased by 18.2 percent to 19,341 units this year from last year\u2019s figure of 16,366 units.<\/p>\n<p>Light commercial vehicles shared the largest sales in this segment with a total of 12,174 units, an increment of 9.3 percent from September 2015\u2019s sales of 11,134 units.<\/p>\n<p>This is followed by Asian utility vehicle with sales jumping by 34.9 percent to 5,954 units, light trucks with sales of 754 units, trucks and buses category IV with 330 unit sales, and category V with 129 units.<\/p>\n<p>Sales of passenger cars also grew by 13.1 percent to 12,110 units from 10,703 units.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, January to September 2016 sales went up by 26.7 percent to 261,370 units from 206,284 units in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>Commercial vehicle sales increased by 34.4 percent to 164,334 units while passenger cars sales rose to 97,026, up by 15.5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith continued strong market demand and enough supply and new model introductions during the Sixth Philippine International Motor Show last September, third quarter sales remained strong. We expect sustained growth as we enter the fourth quarter,\u201d said CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.<\/p>\n<p>For the first three quarters of the year, leading car manufacturers in the Philippine mart were Toyota with market share of 44 percent, Mitsubishi with market share of 17 percent, Ford with 10 percent, Isuzu with 8.0 percent, and Honda with 7.0 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA \u2013 Combined sales of Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc.
