Toronto finishes the season tied with Baltimore at 89-73, but the Blue Jays hold the tiebreaker after winning the season series over the Orioles 10-9.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto had clinched a second straight playoff spot with Detroit&#8217;s 1-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves about 30 minutes before the Jays&#8217; game in Boston ended.<\/p>\n<p>The winner of Tuesday&#8217;s wild-card game will play the Texas Rangers in the AL Division Series starting Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Jays lost in six games to the eventual World Series champion Kansas City Royals in last year&#8217;s AL Championship series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BOSTON\u2014The Toronto Blue Jays will host the Baltimore Orioles in the American League wild-card game on Tuesday.
