Edcel Lagman, Northern Samar Rep. Raul Daza and Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice, all of whom belong to the former ruling party, stressed that there have been no talks or schemes from the LP to go about the impeachment proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(There is) no plot from LP to impeach the president. It is the president who might be impeaching himself for the ill-statement or compromising consequences,\u201d Lagman said.<\/p>\n<p>Daza echoed Lagman\u2019s remark, adding that such scenario is impossible since 28 out of the 33 LP members in the House of Representatives belong to the super majority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far as the LP is concerned we have not even talked about impeachment. The constitution said, impeachment process must originate from the House of Representatives,\u201d Daza explained.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Erice said that an impeachment is not advisable since it would jeopardize the country\u2019s economy as well as possible investments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTalks about impeachment should be avoided because it will be bad for the economy.
