MANILA\u2014High-end bar and club owners in Makati City and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City are in favor of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) deployment of policemen in civilian clothes to monitor the sale of party drugs in these establishments.<\/p>\n

This was the decision arrived at during a meeting between club owners and the PNP officials on Wednesday at 10:00 p.<\/p>\n

The PNP had earlier cited the rampant sale of drugs to high-end bars where most of its patrons are children of rich families.<\/p>\n

The meeting was held Wednesday night which was presided over by PNP chief Director General Ronald \u201cBato\u201d Dela Rosa, together with National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde and some local government officials.<\/p>\n

Also present during the meeting was Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano.<\/p>\n

Both Dela Rosa and Cayetano told the club and bar owners that their support is important in their campaign against illegal drugs.<\/p>\n

The PNP Chief said that they are doing everything in the campaign against illegal drugs and that they would not achieve success in their campaign without the help of others.<\/p>\n

Dela Rosa stressed that the “whole of nation approach” is needed in the worsening drug problem, including the various stakeholders, because the PNP cannot do it alone.<\/p>\n

The PNP would assign two to three police personnel in the said business establishments to conduct surveillance inside and outside the bars.<\/p>\n
