(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/hontiverosrisa\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook photo<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA\u2014Senator Risa Hontiveros said Thursday President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s personal attacks against fellow Senator Leila de Lima, has unnecessarily set the Executive and the Senate on a \u201ccollision course\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis statements depart from the government\u2019s commitment to transparency since one of the best ways to pursue truth is through healthy deliberation driven by facts,\u201d Hontiveros said.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte, in his speech during the 115th service anniversary of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame on Wednesday, mentioned how a certain senator had a \u201clover\u201d who accepted drug money from the Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.<\/p>\n<p>Duterte made these remarks after de Lima last week called for a probe on the extra-judicial killings under the administration\u2019s intensified anti-drug campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The former justice secretary has cried foul over the President\u2019s remarks about her, describing them as a form of \u201ccharacter assassination\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a woman, I take deep offense at President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s latest remarks against fellow Senator Leila de Lima.
