(Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PAGASA.DOST.GOV.PH\/photos\/pcb.1013179695458606\/1013179648791944\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">DOST Pagasa\/Facebook<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>CAMP VICENTE LIM, Calamba City\u2014The southwest monsoon \u201cHabagat\u201d rains induced by typhoon \u201cButchoy\u201d left one person dead in Rizal and evacuees composed of 266 persons or 72 families from two villages in Batangas, according to the Calabarzon Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Calabarzon OCD Regional Director and RDRRMC Chair Vicente F. Tomazar told the Philippines News Agency here that the fatality, 14-year-old John Michael Lunes, drowned while swimming at a creek in Karangalan Village, Cainta, Rizal at the height of the torrential rains on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Tomazar said the drowning victim was brought to the Takano Hospital in Cainta but the attending doctor pronounced him dead on arrival shortly before noon.<\/p>\n<p>In Batangas City, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) reported that 72 families or 266 persons from two flooded villages are assisted and advised to remain at the city Evacuation Center.<\/p>\n<p>Tomazar said the CSWDO reported to the OCD-RDRRMC that as of Sunday morning, there was no change in the number of family evacuees at the city\u2019s evacuation center while the centers in Rizal province have been closed.<\/p>\n<p>A 10-hour power outage also plunged the Magallanes town in Cavite into darkness from 2 p.m. up to 10 minutes before midnight on Saturday.
