MANILA \u2013 Filipina singer-actress Rachelle Ann Go has been given the \u201cBest Performance of a Song\u201d award by British theater website West End Frame for her rendition of \u201cI Dreamed A Dream\u201d in the classical musical Les Mis\u00e9rables.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old international theatre actress, who played Fantine in the musical, emerged atop, garnering 32 percent of over 15,000 votes. Following her was Matt Corner with 11 percent for his performance of \u201c\u2018Can\u2019t Take My Eyes Off You\u201d in Jersey Boys.<\/p>\n

The other runner-ups were Oliver Savile for \u201cDancing Through Life\u201d in Wicked, Emma Williams for \u201cIf Mountains Were Easy To Climb\u201d in Mrs Henderson Presents, and Matt Henry for \u201cHold Me In Your Heart\u201d in Kinky Boots, among others.<\/p>\n

Overwhelmed with the new accolade, Go thanked all those who voted for her as well as the whole cast and staff of Les Mis\u00e9rables. It was in June 2015 when she first portrayed the role of Fantine in.<\/p>\n

Previous winners of the award also included Tam Mutu (2014) for \u201cStars\u201d in Les Mis\u00e9rables, Sofia Escobar (2013) for \u201cWishing You Were Somehow Here Again\u201d in the Phantom of the Opera, and Rachel Tucker (2012) for \u201cDefying Gravity\u201d in Wicked.<\/p>\n
