MANILA \u2013 In an interview with ANC\u2019s \u201cTalkback with Tina Monson Palma,\u201d Palace Inaugural Committee head Marciano Paynor disclosed that President-elect Rodrigo \u201cRody\u201d Duterte\u2019s inauguration will be \u2018simple\u2019 yet \u2018elegant\u2019 and meaningful.<\/p>\n

The inaugural committee presented three choices of venues for the said ceremony: Rizal Hall, Palace grounds, and Quirino Grandstand.<\/p>\n

Not wanting to cause heavy traffic or trouble motorists and commuters, Duterte opted to hold the inauguration at the Rizal Hall in Malaca\u00f1ang. \u00a0His venue of choice, however, can only accommodate around 600 guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe asked all the guests to proceed to PICC (Philippine International Convention Center). That\u2019s where we\u2019ll do the security check, and that\u2019s where we\u2019ll provide them with ample breakfast because after the inaugural ceremonies, that will already be 1:30 or 2:00 pm,\u201d Paynor said, adding that only diplomats were allowed to bring their own vehicles to Malaca\u00f1ang while others were asked to assemble in PICC where buses going to the venue were provided.<\/p>\n

With the two-hour event starting at noon, Duterte will be taking his oath, giving his speech, and then swearing in all his appointed Cabinet officials. Doing away with the traditional ceremonies, the simple program will still have a \u2018detailed sequence of events\u2019 and orchestrated movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything will be simple. Everything is orchestrated in such a way that people will not be tentative, hesitating,\u201d Paynor shared. \u201cThe elegance there is, the movements are well executed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone will know exactly where he or she is supposed to be. Everything is timed, everything has a purpose. If you don\u2019t have a purpose, you\u2019re not supposed to be there,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Following the inauguration was the diplomatic reception, where representatives of various heads of state will be conveying to the president their respective greetings and well wishes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
