(Photo courtesy of Toronto police)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>TORONTO\u2014The baby who was delivered prematurely last month after her mother was fatally shot in Toronto has died.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto police issued a brief statement saying the infant son of Candice Rochelle Bobb died Sunday night in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the family is asking for privacy.<\/p>\n<p>Bobb, 35, was five months pregnant when she was shot in Toronto&#8217;s northwest end while returning home from watching a basketball game on May 15.<\/p>\n<p>Her baby boy was delivered prematurely by emergency C-section.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Bobb, who lived in neighbouring Mississauga, was in a vehicle with three other people at the time of the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Police say the vehicle was the clear target.<\/p>\n<p>There have been no arrests in the shooting of Bobb, said police Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>The statement provided no update on the state of the investigation. A spokesman said with the death of Bobb&#8217;s baby, police would be \u201cconsulting\u201d Crown prosecutors, but did not elaborate.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of Bobb&#8217;s shooting, police wouldn&#8217;t say how many suspects they were looking for, only that the shots fired at the vehicle in which Bobb was travelling came from a second vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Police Chief Mark Saunders said at the time that the shooting was \u201csolvable,\u201d provided those with information speak out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose who have that information need to come forward. &#8230; Public outrage will not be enough,\u201d Saunders told a news conference.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO\u2014The baby who was delivered prematurely last month after her mother was fatally shot in Toronto has died.
