I always think that there\u2019s so much room for improvement. I\u2019m not where I want to be as an actress [but] I\u2019m happy where I am,\u201d she said in an interview with the Philippine Star. \u201cI\u2019m just preparing for my future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kapamilya actress shared how she gained new insights and experiences while at the Acquila Morong Studio for Actors. She has also set new goals for her career.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to explore several things\u2026 Why do you have to wait for a role to come to you? Why don\u2019t you prepare for it? I always wanted to go beyond the Philippines. It could be regional [like] Southeast Asia. I just feel that we should keep on expanding our audience and market,\u201d she said in the same report.<\/p>\n<p>During her short stay in the United States, Calzado was able to secure a role in an independent film to be directed by multi-awarded Filipino director Jerrold Tarog.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s ongoing\u2026 It\u2019s good something came up with my trip,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a psycho-thriller, one of my favorite genres. I auditioned for the part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recently back in Manila, Calzado\u2019s romantic-comedy movie \u2018My Candidate\u2019 has been set to premiere on May 11, where she will be co-starring with Derek Ramsay and Shaina Magdayao. The 33-year-old actress also landed a leading role for an upcoming teleserye in her home network ABS-CBN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s always a reason why things (fall into place)\u2026 There\u2019s always a reason why things happened. I think I\u2019m a bit of a risk taker.
