MANILA–As the campaign period for this year’s election ended Saturday, administration bet Mar Roxas expressed extreme confidence that the Filipino people would vote for him and the Daang Matuwid slate, adding that Filipinos would rather choose democracy over dictatorship.<\/p>\n

He said that the threats to democracy is real, brought about by the pre-election survey popularity of his fiercest rival Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bongbong Marcos, the son and namesake of former president Ferdinand Marcos.<\/p>\n
