It\u2019s just for one day, any day this week,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The FTS involves the end-to-end test of the process, from the initialization of the machines, to the voting of 10 people, to the feeding of the accomplished ballots to the VCMs, and until the printing of election returns (ERs).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the process, they will seal and lock the machines in the polling precincts and will not be opened again until 5 a.m. on Election Day,\u201d Jimenez added.<\/p>\n<p>Comelec Resolution No. 9981 provides that the testing and sealing of the VCMs will be done from May 2 to 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe purpose of the FTS is to see to it that the machines installed in that place are working as they should be,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>During the FTS in the last elections, the poll body reported less than a hundred glitches among the 77,829 Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines, including manual counts not matching with the machine-generated results while some machines did not function.<\/p>\n<p>It was also during the FTS when the compact flash (CF) cards of the voting machines were found to have been misconfigured a week before the 2010 polls.<\/p>\n<p>The Comelec and Smartmatic-Total Information Management (TIM) Corporation, the service provider in the polls, have decided to replace all the estimated 76,000 CF cards nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA \u2013 The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will be holding the Final Testing and Sealing (FTS) of the vote counting &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":72407,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16,95],"tags":[3716,10397,10543],"class_list":["post-75205","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","category-news-ph","tag-comelec","tag-commission-on-elections","tag-vcms","mauthors-ferdinand-patinio","mauthors-philippines-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/75205","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=75205"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/75205\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/72407"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=75205"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=75205"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=75205"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
