MANILA\u2014PDP-LABAN standard bearer Rodrigo Duterte on Friday said he will only open his Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) account only if Sen. Antonio Trillanes will sign an affidavit and files a case against him.<\/p>\n

Trillanes claimed that such BPI account contained Php211 million.<\/p>\n

Duterte also dared Trillanes to present himself before officials of the BPI Julia Vargas branch in Pasig this coming Monday.<\/p>\n

The PDP-LABAN standard bearer will be represented by his legal counsel, Atty. Salvador Panelo.<\/p>\n

Duterte is scheduled to visit Zamboanga City on Monday.<\/p>\n

He also asked the media to witness the face-off between Trillanes and Panelo.<\/p>\n

Duterte earlier said that the Julia Vargas BPI account is indeed existing \u2014 with a “little lesser than” Php211 million content.<\/p>\n

He told the media that the deposits are real, but was quick to say that \u201cang sinabi ko ay wala akong deposito na ganoon kalaki.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI might have said it in a different way, but I didn\u2019t say that I have deposits that big.”<\/p>\n

Commenting on the claim that a series of transfers were made during his birthday, Duterte said \u201cibig sabihin niyan, marami akong kaibigan na mayaman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pressed further to comment on the source of the money, he said \u201cbigay (gift).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAlang(an)naman hinold-up ko,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On Monday, he said he expects Trillanes to go to the Julia Vargas Pasay branch.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoon siya (Trillanes) magpunta,\u201d said Duterte. \u201cGusto ko nga mag-execute siya ng affidavit, para legal. Put them in black and white\u2026para totohanan talaga. Hindi lang tsismis.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said \u201cI just want it proper.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou execute an affidavit, you accuse the person, then the person, if he so desires, open (his bank account),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He admitted that the Julia Vargas BPI branch account has a less than Php200 million.<\/p>\n

Asked why the money was not indicated in his statement of assets and liabilities and net worth (SALN), he said he has already spent the money.<\/p>\n

\u201cWala na. Nagastos ko na. Nag-happy-happy ako,\u201d he said in jest.<\/p>\n

Trillanes said the money was transferred to Duterte\u2019s bank account in 2014, in time for his birthday.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarami pala akong kaibigan,\u201d Duterte said when pressed for comments.<\/p>\n

He said the money was not \u2018ill gotten\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cPanelo will explain it to you,\u201d Duterte said.<\/p>\n
