MANILA\u2014If elected in the May 9 polls, independent presidential candidate and Senator Grace Poe said on Sunday she would appoint a secretary whose job is only to address the traffic situation, particularly in Metro Manila.<\/p>\n

\u201dI will appoint a secretary as ‘traffic terminator.’ His only function is to monitor every project that should be finished immediately, like the right-of-way,\u201d Poe said during the third and last presidential debate at the Phinma University of Pangasinan in Dagupan City.<\/p>\n

Poe did not give name but said her traffic terminator should have engineering background and expertise in traffic enforcement.<\/p>\n

For the immediate solution of the worsening traffic problem, Poe said discipline should be instilled to everyone, particularly to the drivers.<\/p>\n

She said there is also a need to intensify the road clearing and widening to reduce traffic congestion.<\/p>\n

The lady senator said the South Luzon Expressway and the North Luzon Expressway connector road can help if it will be finished immediately.<\/p>\n
