Ace Durano, campaign manager of Partido Galing at Puso (PGP), said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>Durano particularly mentioned former North Cotabato governor Emmanuel Pi\u00f1ol, a staunch Duterte ally, who wrote about a \u201cprivately-commissioned Pulse Asia survey taken March 21-25 (sic)\u201d that showed Duterte leading the presidential preference polls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThis has been denied by no less than Pulse Asia, which said that it did not conduct said survey,\u201d Durano said.<\/p>\n<p>In its official Facebook page, Pulse Asia posted: \u201cWe do not conduct surveys during Holy Week, Holy Thursday and Good Friday in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Duterte camp claimed that the mayor had been invited by the US embassy for a meeting, and that he had been endorsed by Jollibee owner Tony Tan Cak Tiong, Pope Francis and other notables.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThese were all lies,\u201d the campaign manager of Poe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dDoes Pompee Lavi\u00f1a, social media director of the Duterte campaign, have absolutely no regard for truth and people\u2019s welfare, just so he can advance his candidate\u2019s interest?,\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>Since the campaign season officially began on February 9, Durano said PGP has made every effort to stick to a decent and truthful campaign based on platforms of government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that there is no other way for candidates to present themselves to the electorate\u2014truthfully and respectfully,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Poe continues to be the top choice of voters for president, with 28 percent of people voting for her, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted on March 15-20.<\/p>\n<p>As the election campaign approaches the homestretch, Poe camp call on all the candidates to have a sense of decency and not to take advantage of the Filipinos\u2019 forgiving nature.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dDo not fool the people; instead, enlighten them so that together, we can build a better Philippines,\u201d Durano said.<\/p>\n<p>Poe\u2019s spokesman Rex Gatchalian echoed the statement of Durano, calling on the electorate to be vigilant against various forms of underhanded propaganda aimed at sowing confusion among the minds of the general public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dIt\u2019s sad that various means are now being employed to sow havoc in our election system, and we will continue to appeal to the best judgment of our Filipino countrymen,\u201d Gatchalian, a reelectionist mayor of Valenzuela City,\u2019 said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA\u2014The camp of leading presidential candidate Senator Grace Poe on Monday has expressed concerns over what they called misinformation drive &hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":73531,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1145,16,95],"tags":[6054,1786,7606,2658,6854],"class_list":["post-73530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headline","category-news","category-news-ph","tag-duterte","tag-election","tag-poe","tag-pulse-asia","tag-survey","mauthors-philippine-news-agency"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/73530","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/33"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=73530"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/73530\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/73531"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=73530"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=73530"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=73530"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
