{"id":72999,"date":"2016-03-24T10:06:30","date_gmt":"2016-03-24T14:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=72999"},"modified":"2016-03-24T10:06:30","modified_gmt":"2016-03-24T14:06:30","slug":"palace-creates-task-force-west-philippine-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2016\/03\/24\/palace-creates-task-force-west-philippine-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Palace creates task force for West Philippine Sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_56824\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56824\" style=\"width: 851px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/11110442_1033675633327376_1387635719730305631_n.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-56824\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-56824\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/11110442_1033675633327376_1387635719730305631_n.png\" alt=\"The Malaca\u00f1ang Palace (Facebook photo)\" width=\"851\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/11110442_1033675633327376_1387635719730305631_n.png 851w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/11110442_1033675633327376_1387635719730305631_n-300x111.png 300w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/11110442_1033675633327376_1387635719730305631_n-600x222.png 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-56824\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Malaca\u00f1ang Palace (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/malacanang\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook photo<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>MANILA\u2014Malacanang has formed a task force to advance the country\u2019s national interests in the disputed West Philippine Sea.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven the country\u2019s national interest, national policies and evolving strategic landscape, a more deliberate and coherent approach in addressing the West Philippine Sea issue is needed for the purpose of orchestrating the national effort and achieving unified action in the West Philippine Sea,\u201d said Memorandum Circular No. 94 released by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The circular formally establishes the task force chaired by National Security Adviser Cesar Garcia Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Its members include representatives from the Departments of Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Justice, Interior and Local Government, Environment and Natural Resources, Energy, Agriculture, Trade and Industry, Transportation and Communications and Finance, National Economic and Development Authority, National Coast Watch System, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police-Maritime Group, Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.<\/p>\n<p>The task force will be responsible in planning and synchronizing the employment of the different national government agencies\u2019 capabilities to achieve the national objectives in the WPS.<\/p>\n<p>It will receive guidance from the President, through the Cabinet Cluster on Security, Justice and Peace.
