{"id":69328,"date":"2016-01-24T21:28:34","date_gmt":"2016-01-25T02:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=69328"},"modified":"2016-01-24T21:28:34","modified_gmt":"2016-01-25T02:28:34","slug":"man-28-killed-east-end-toronto-shooting-4-wounded-shootings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2016\/01\/24\/man-28-killed-east-end-toronto-shooting-4-wounded-shootings\/","title":{"rendered":"Man, 28, killed in east end Toronto shooting, 4 wounded in other shootings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TORONTO\u2014One person has died and four other people are injured after four separate shootings in Toronto early Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead in hospital after emergency crews were called to a shooting (in the Ellesmere and McCowan roads area) around 4:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>There is no word on suspects.<\/p>\n<p>A man and woman in their 20&#8217;s are in hospital after gunfire erupted at a private party (on Niagara Street west of Bathurst Street) around 2:30 a.m., and continued on the street.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics say the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head, while the woman was shot in the leg.<\/p>\n<p>Police say several people were arrested nearby when officers located a stolen vehicle, but police aren&#8217;t yet sure whether there&#8217;s any connection to the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man has life-threatening injuries after being shot several times (on Wakunda Place, near O&#8217;Connor Drive and Victoria Park Avenue.)<\/p>\n<p>And police say a male who was shot in the back (in the Bathurst and Dupont streets area) has serious injuries.
