Parade starts at Georgia and Broughton, travels east to Howe Street, then travels south on Howe Street to Davie Street.<\/p>\n

More than 300,000 spectators are expected to be on hand as the 12th Annual Rogers Santa Claus parade celebrates the start of the holiday season with more than\u00a050 marching bands, choirs, festive floats, and community groups.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s grand marshal is Rolly Fox in honour of the 35th anniversary of his son Terry\u2019s Marathon of Hope run across Canada and the tremendous work the Terry Fox Foundation has done to raise money for cancer research through the annual Terry Fox Run, held worldwide since 1980.<\/p>\n

Spectators are asked to celebrate the spirit of giving by bringing a dollar or a non-perishable food donation for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Volunteers will collect donations along the parade route and at the Coast Capital Savings Christmas Square in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

The parade route will be closed to traffic from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm with parking restrictions on the route in effect as of 6 am.<\/strong><\/p>\n
