Senior citizen Wan Hashim Wan Mahmood is challenging himself once again on a solo cycling feat &#8211; this time, on a three-round trip to Thailand and Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>He will set off for the trip, covering 8,000 kilometres in 80 days, on Nov. 26.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to break my personal record by cycling for longer distance, that is by making a three-round trip from here to Singapore and then to South Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It will also be a test of my mental and physical fitness as I&#8217;ll be cycling during the monsoon season,&#8221; he told Bernama here.<\/p>\n<p>The 70-year-old grandfather said it would be his fourth solo cycling expedition during which he would help promote Visit Kelantan Year 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Wan Hashim, who has six children and 18 grandchildren, had been on a cycling expedition in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, covering 5,319 kilometres.<\/p>\n<p>His name was entered in the Malaysia Book of Records as the oldest man to have cycled solo around Peninsular Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to help promote my birth state by promoting it to the world and also in appreciation of the state government&#8217;s confidence in me to be the Kelantan tourism ambassador,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Wan Hashim said he would bring along pamphlets on places of tourist attractions in Kelantan to be distributed to the public along his cycling route.<\/p>\n<p>On his preparation for the feat, he said he cycled between 20 and 40 kilometres daily and once a week, would cycle for 80 kilometres.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: small\">&#8220;I also eat healthy by consuming more vegetables and fruits, and also drink lemon with honey every morning and night,&#8221;
