{"id":65073,"date":"2015-11-19T00:11:18","date_gmt":"2015-11-19T06:11:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=65073"},"modified":"2015-11-19T00:11:18","modified_gmt":"2015-11-19T06:11:18","slug":"doh-confirms-6-cases-of-hivaids-in-iloilo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2015\/11\/19\/doh-confirms-6-cases-of-hivaids-in-iloilo\/","title":{"rendered":"DOH confirms 6 cases of HIV\/AIDS in Iloilo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ILOILO CITY &#8211; The Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas confirmed the presence of 14 persons living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) &#8211; Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in the municipality of Pototan, Iloilo.<\/p>\n<p>Christine Mosqueda, DOH nurse coordinator for Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) said that 10 of the 14 persons living with HIV\/AIDS in Pototan were confined\u00a0in the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose enrolled are availing the antiretroviral drugs and they undergo laboratory and quarterly check-up, \u201cMosqueda said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Their infections were also being managed in the center,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>As of September, Western Visayas has 1,028 recorded cases of HIV\/AIDS.
