Ferdinand \u201cBong Bong\u201d Marcos Jr. said yesterday that he is willing to be a party to a DNA test with Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSure, I can undergo DNA test, no problem. \u201cI don\u2019t see how will that help her but if it will, why not?\u201d Marcos told Manila Bulletin.<\/p>\n<p>Poe, the adopted daughter of actors Fernando Poe and Susan Roces has recently undergone a DNA test with two of her suspected relatives in Iloilo province. The results were negative.<\/p>\n<p>Marcos and Poe were rumored to be half-siblings. The two senators have called each other \u201cbro\u201d and \u201csis\u201d at the senate.<\/p>\n<p>Marcos said in the same report that if tests would prove that he and Poe were related, he would tell her: \u201cWelcome to the family!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Poe is happy of Marcos\u2019 offer to help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want also to involve Senator Marcos but I\u2019m happy that he is open to the idea,\u201d said Poe in the same report.<\/p>\n<p>Poe has emphasized that she did not undergo DNA tests only to prove her citizenship but for personal reasons as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been looking for them (biological relatives) for a long time even just for medical records,\u201d Poe said in Filipino.<\/p>\n<p>Poe\u2019s spokesperson and Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, in a Manila Bulletin report, said that Poe will still be undergoing more DNA tests not to be used as instrument to dismiss disqualification cases against the senator but \u201cfor personal consumption\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe results of the DNA are not the basis of her position that she is natural born (Filipino).\u00a0 She has said before that the DNA was an extra step on her part and done for her personal consumption,\u201d added Gatchalian.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
