(shutterstock)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>HALIFAX &#8212; High winds were causing some Thanksgiving weekend travel headaches across Atlantic Canada Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Wind gusts of 110 kilometres an hour in some areas have forced Marine Atlantic, Nova Star Cruises, Northumberland Ferries and the Confederation Bridge to limit or cancel their services.<\/p>\n<p>Marine Atlantic cancelled its late Saturday morning ferry crossings between Port aux Basques, N.L., and North Sydney, N.S.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Star Cruises said the ferry that was scheduled to arrive in Yarmouth, N.S., Saturday morning from Portland, Maine wouldn&#8217;t be able to make land until later in the day.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Star&#8217;s Saturday afternoon crossing from Yarmouth was therefore cancelled, as well as the overnight ferry from Portland.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Northumberland Ferries crossings between Caribou, N.S., and Wood Islands, P.E.I., were cancelled until later Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Confederation Bridge was not allowing motorcycles, vehicles towing trailers and high-sided vehicles to cross Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HALIFAX &#8212; High winds were causing some Thanksgiving weekend travel headaches across Atlantic Canada Saturday.
