MANILA, PHILIPPINES \u2013 Samahan ng Basketbol ng Pilipinas President Manny Pangilinan said he will no longer extend his term nor bend the rules to make it longer, as his six-year term has come to an end. Elections for president and new board of directors are set on January, according to CNN Philippines\u2019 Paolo Del Rosario\u2019s tweets.<\/p>\n

Manny Pangilinan posted on his Twitter account that SBP needs to be refreshed and the association is in need of fresh and young blood to revitalize it.<\/p>\n

The SBP Constitution sets an 8yr term limit for Directors and for the Pres. I am caught by that rule w\/c I had a hand drafting back in '06<\/p>\n

All that said, I remain committed to Philippine basketball, to the SBP and its programs, and to our Filipino fans here and abroad.<\/p>\n

Despite of the end of his term as president, he will still continue to render his moral and financial support to SBP and its programs.<\/p>\n
