{"id":62330,"date":"2015-10-02T20:45:44","date_gmt":"2015-10-03T01:45:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=62330"},"modified":"2015-10-18T04:43:38","modified_gmt":"2015-10-18T09:43:38","slug":"gilas-is-best-performing-team-in-fiba-says-cone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2015\/10\/02\/gilas-is-best-performing-team-in-fiba-says-cone\/","title":{"rendered":"Gilas is best performing team in FIBA, says Cone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Gilas2013.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22825\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Gilas2013.png\" alt=\"Gilas2013\" width=\"250\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>MANILA \u2013 Former national team coach Tim Cone saw that Gilas Pilipinas has been faring well in this year\u2019s FIBA Asia Championships, believing that it has even been the \u2018best performing team\u2019 this season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGilas looks like the best right now\u2026 I\u2019m watching all the teams, and I think the only team that\u2019s going to battle them at this point is China,\u201d Cone said in an interview with PBA.ph.<\/p>\n<p>The PBA coach noted that China\u2019s \u2018hunger\u2019 to finish at the top has driven the foreign country\u2019s national team to fight for the lone slot in the 2016 Olympics. They also had the homecourt advantage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re very hungry, so China could be Gilas\u2019 biggest obstacle over Iran just because of the hunger factor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>But still, Cone remained impressed with Gilas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve been awesome\u2026 They\u2019ve been well coached, and the guys really bought in.
