It flops on both sides,\u201d Flames head coach Bob Hartley said. \u201cIt\u2019s one mistake and you\u2019re in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Russell blew by exhausted Canucks winger Linden Vey to end overtime early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think puck possession is going to be a big key in that and little things like winning faceoffs because there\u2019s so much ice and you can\u2019t really get chasing on the defensive side,\u201d the Flames defenceman said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to have to work hard at it and be well-conditioned in those kinds of situations. That&#8217;s our first taste. There\u2019s rule changes every year, one or two tweaks that we\u2019ve got to as a group adjust to and make sure we\u2019re on the winning end because it\u2019s huge points right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Flames and Canucks are scheduled to play another three-on-three overtime in Saturday\u2019s pre-season rematch in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s pretty clear that you better win faceoffs on three-on-three or you\u2019re going to be chasing the puck for a while,\u201d Flames centre Sean Monahan said. \u201cIt\u2019s fun and I think it will limit shootouts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not a big fan of the shootouts.
