MANILA \u2013 Camarines Sur Third District Representative Leni Robredo hoped that she would make the \u2018right decision\u2019 on former Interior Secretary Manuel \u201cMar\u201d Roxas II\u2019s formal offer to be his running mate and become the ruling Liberal Party\u2019s (LP) vice presidential\u00a0 candidate.<\/p>\n

In an interview with radio network dzMM, Robredo confirmed that Roxas indeed visited her home in Naga City on Friday morning and offered that she become his running mate in next year\u2019s national elections.<\/p>\n

While not completely declining the offer, the neophyte lawmaker disclosed that she would have to think carefully before she makes the decision.<\/p>\n

She also earlier admitted that her three children were against her seeking a higher post in the coming general elections.<\/p>\n

Although Robredo has yet to make a decision, several government officials have already backed her possible vice presidential bid with Naga City Mayor John Bongat, Camarines Sur Vice Governor Fortunato Pe\u00f1a and Camarines Sur Fifth District Representative Salvio Fortuno addressing her as \u2018vice president.\u2019<\/p>\n

Roxas, for his part, would try to persuade the lawmaker\u2019s children to allow their mother to join the vice-presidential race. Also trying to convince her to run for the country\u2019s second highest post, her supporters launched a \u201cone million signatures\u201d campaign last week.<\/p>\n
