{"id":60802,"date":"2015-09-05T21:35:21","date_gmt":"2015-09-05T13:35:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/?p=60802"},"modified":"2015-09-06T10:36:26","modified_gmt":"2015-09-06T02:36:26","slug":"belmonte-reveals-shortlist-of-senate-hrep-priorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2015\/09\/05\/belmonte-reveals-shortlist-of-senate-hrep-priorities\/","title":{"rendered":"Belmonte reveals shortlist of Senate-HRep Priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_13753\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13753\" style=\"width: 196px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/sonny-belmonte.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13753\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/sonny-belmonte.jpg\" alt=\"Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. (Wikipedia photo)\" width=\"196\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13753\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. (Wikipedia photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A Senate-House of Representatives leaders\u2019 meeting held today has identified a short list of priorities for the next five weeks, bannered by the proposed 2016 P3-trillion plus national budget and the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law, Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. revealed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring our meeting with our Senate counterparts, we have identified a short list of priorities which we intend to focus on in the next few weeks,\u201d Speaker Belmonte revealed.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed 2016 General Appropriations Act is now undergoing scrutiny by the House Committee on Appropriations and expected to be reported out for plenary debate as soon as practicable, while the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law is undergoing plenary debate.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the GAA and the BBL, Speaker Belmonte said that the list includes: 1) the proposed Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Reform bill; 2) the proposed creation of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); 3) the proposed Tax Incentive Management and Transparency Act; 4) theproposed amendments to the Public-Private Partnership\/BOT law; and 5) the proposed Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe choice of priorities were determined based on their advanced stage in the legislative process, therefore making their passage more achievable,\u201d Belmonte said, \u201cThis also veers away from traditionally giving full focus to the GAA passage alone.
