MANILA —\u00a0The rumored Roxas-Santos tandem may no longer be possible.<\/p>\n

Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos recently denied allegations that she will run for Vice President as a running mate of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas in next year’s polls.<\/div>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t envisioned the position for myself so I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be effective as vice president,\u201d Santos said as quoted in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cNothing will change my mind. We\u2019re talking about the whole Philippines here\u2014that\u2019s not easy. Being a public servant entails a big sacrifice,” she said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Santos, the first female governor of Batangas, said that she prefer a local position.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Though she is thankful that her supporters believe in her, Santos said that she is not ready \u00a0for \u00a0the sacrifices and the consequences of running for a higher post.<\/div>\n
