MANILA \u2013 After performing at \u201cThe Music of Rey Valera\u201d earlier this month and at ASAP 20 this weekend, Megastar Sharon Cuneta succumbed to her persistent coughs and was then brought to St. Luke\u2019s Medical Center where she has been confined.<\/p>\n

In her post on Facebook yesterday, Sharon admitted experiencing a persistent cough in the past three weeks. She then took antibiotics and experienced temporary relief, which allowed her to sing at the tribute shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cI sang at \u201cThe Music of Rey Valera\u201d with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra led by Maestro Gerard Salonga and with some wonderful singers at the Solaire on August 1.<\/p>\n

The next day, I was so sick I couldn\u2019t get up [and had] major congestion and still, a cough,\u201d her status read.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast Sunday, I sang in ASAP\u2026 Both times, I was able to sing because my doctor gave me medicine with steroids to open up my breathing and somehow temporarily stopped me from coughing,\u201d her status further said.<\/p>\n

Still having the relentless cough after weeks, Sharon finally decided to consult a doctor and was later on confined. She now asked for prayers for her quick recovery.<\/p>\n

Aside from her Facebook post, the Megastar also shared a photo of her receiving medication through infusion therapy and another photo of her with daughters KC and Miel.<\/p>\n
