MANILA — President Aquino joined a largely Liberal Party (LP) gathering showing his full support to Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.<\/p>\n

Malacanang did not announce the President’s attendance to the meeting of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (Ulap) held in Greenhills, San Juan.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I said I have to be at this event because (this shows) that this early, we are already making a stand on where we will be headed,\u201d the President said.<\/p>\n

During his impromptu speech, President Aquino said that he never expected that he will be retiring early.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of you were with me when I was stepping up (to the presidency) and next year, I will be stepping down.<\/p>\n
