MANILA — President Aquino said he might ask Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas to stay a little longer in his post.<\/p>\n

The president added that he might request the secretary to finish the things that needs to be done before leaving.<\/p>\n

“I might prevail on him to stay at the post a little longer to finish a lot of the things that are being done,” Aquino said.<\/p>\n

“I’d like him to finish a lot of the things that can be finished before leaving the post and having that transition period,” he added.<\/p>\n

Aquino added that Roxas has yet to finish the works he started particularly in the equipment upgrade of the Philippine National Police.<\/p>\n

Roxas has reportedly submitted his resignation letter to Aquino this is afternoon.<\/p>\n

This is following Aquino’s announcement that he will be endorsing Roxas for President in the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Aquino said that he is confident that Roxas is capable of continuing the reforms that the administration has started.<\/p>\n

“Dun na po tayo sa siguradong itutuloy ang ‘Daang Matuwid.’ At ang paniwala ko po ang taong ito, walang iba kundi si Mar Roxas,” Aquino said.<\/p>\n
