Each year, the federal GTF assists municipalities by providing funding for local infrastructure projects. In 2015-2016, more than\u00a0$8 million dollars each\u00a0will be made available to Markham and Vaughan with a total of\u00a0almost $800 million dollars\u00a0flowing to municipalities across Ontario.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quick Facts<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8212; Between 2014 and 2024, close to $22 billion in funding will flow to communities across Canada through the GTF. Of this, Ontario\u00a0municipalities will receive an estimated $8 billion in new federal infrastructure funding.<br \/>\n&#8212; Since the program began, the federal GTF has made $15 billion available to support local infrastructure from coast to coast to coast, including $2 billion in 2015-2016 alone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quotes<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201c<em>The Government of Canada is committed to investing in public infrastructure to enhance our economic productivity and create jobs and economic growth across Canada.
