MANILA — President Aquino met with Senator Grace Poe again on Monday afternoon, following the six-hour dinner held at Malacanang with other senators.<\/p>\n

The meeting, which was the third meeting that the senator had with the president lasted for five hours.<\/p>\n

Poe said that she sensed\u00a0the \u201cvery difficult position\u201d that the President was going through.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand and sympathize with his predicament and situation,\u201d Poe said in a text message to the Philippine Daily Inquirer.<\/p>\n

According to Poe, the meeting ended with the two of them agreeing to continue working together.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the end, we both agreed to continue, in whatever capacity, striving and working for our countrymen and for the betterment of our children\u2019s future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

“We both agreed that we both have the best interest of our country in mind in whatever decisions we will make in the coming days,” she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI consider him a true and sincere friend and he has my utmost respect,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Poe also added that the meeting \u00a0may be the last meeting she will have with the president before the State of the Nation Address on July 27.<\/p>\n
