{"id":565,"date":"2014-01-15T00:50:38","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T08:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/66.147.244.209\/~canadiu3\/?p=565"},"modified":"2014-01-16T00:57:43","modified_gmt":"2014-01-16T08:57:43","slug":"kristen-stewart-is-terrified-to-begin-work-on-new-drake-doremus-film-equals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/2014\/01\/15\/kristen-stewart-is-terrified-to-begin-work-on-new-drake-doremus-film-equals\/","title":{"rendered":"Kristen Stewart is &#8216;terrified&#8217; to begin work on new Drake Doremus film &#8216;Equals&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_566\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-566\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/66.147.244.209\/~canadiu3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_119363239.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-566\" alt=\"Photo by Featureflash \/ Shutterstock.com\" src=\"http:\/\/66.147.244.209\/~canadiu3\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_119363239.jpg\" width=\"1000\" height=\"672\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_119363239.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/canadianinquirer.net\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/shutterstock_119363239-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-566\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by Featureflash \/ Shutterstock.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>LOS ANGELES\u2014Kristen Stewart has signed on to play the lead in \u201cLike Crazy\u201d director Drake Doremus\u2019 futuristic love story \u201cEquals,\u201d and it\u2019s making her a nervous wreck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe I agreed to do it,\u201d said the \u201cTwilight\u201d actress about her upcoming role in the sci-fi drama, which also stars Nicholas Hoult of the upcoming \u201cX-Men: Days of Future Past.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stewart describes \u201cEquals\u201d as a slightly updated version of the 1956 film \u201c1984,\u201d based on George Orwell\u2019s classic 1949 novel about rebellion in a repressed futuristic society. \u201cEquals\u201d begins filming later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m terrified of it,\u201d said the 23-year-old actress in a recent interview. \u201cThough it\u2019s a movie with a really basic concept, it\u2019s overtly ambitious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn \u2018Equals,\u2019 things go wrong because you can\u2019t deny the humanity in everyone,\u201d said Stewart. \u201cIt\u2019s the most devastating story.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adds Doremus of his sixth film: \u201cIt\u2019s about love in a world where love really doesn\u2019t exist anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Written by Nathan Parker (\u201cMoon\u201d), \u201cEquals\u201d is the first film Doremus will direct that he didn\u2019t write himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI trust Drake\u2019s process and I know we will do something really natural and real,\u201d said Stewart. \u201cBut I told Drake, \u2018Don\u2019t expect that I am going to be able to do this. It\u2019s too hard.\u2019 But he wouldn\u2019t take \u2018no\u2019 for an answer.
